Turkey Sausage, Hoisin
& Scallion Pizza
Makes 4 ServingsIngredients
* | 1 pound sweet or hot Italian turkey sausage, such as Shady Brook Farms or Honeysuckle White |
* | 12-inch thin-crust prebaked Italian pizza crust, such as Boboli(R) |
* | 4-5 tablespoons hoisin sauce |
* | 8 ounces sliced mushrooms |
* | 6 scallions, white & light green parts, sliced diagonally |
* | 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese |
* | 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated |
Instructions
1 | Preheat oven to 425F degrees. Place a non-stick pizza baking pan in the oven while it comes up to temperature. |
2 | Remove turkey sausage from casings and cook in a non-stick skillet until browned and fully cooked, breaking up the sausage into small pieces as it cooks. Transfer to paper towels to drain any excess oil. |
3 | Spread the pizza crust with hoisin sauce. Top with mushrooms and cooked turkey sausage, then sprinkle with scallions. Top with mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. |
4 | Place pizza on preheated pizza baking pan. Bake 20 minutes until golden brown. If desired, increase heat to broil and broil for 2 minutes until cheese is browned and crisp. |
Notes
Hoisin sauce can be found in the Asian section of most supermarkets.
